Weather Trouble...

So I wenrt to Williamsburg this past weekend with my friend, and we were going to go see the historical site and shop around on Saturday....Williamsburg's weather decided to monsoon that very day, as we had 10-15 inches of rain pour on us while we were outside. My shoes were soaked through to my socks (and I had to walk around like that for about 5 hours) and my jeans were wet all the way up my thighs.
Even though the weather was miserable, the rain actually made the trip more exciting.
I just hope I dont get a cold...

The Firefly (or Lightning Bug) usually is seen on summer nights in your yard, fields, and pretty much everywhere. They always remind me of fairies from far away and all you can see are the small yellow lights on them.
Its also a bonus that they are nice bugs and I can actually touch them without getting freaked out....

This weekend my friend let me borrow Final Fantasy VII Advent Children....yes. The movie. Even though I had to read the english subtitles, the movie was so awsome. The graphics blew me away.
Cloud is an interesting character because he has so much strength but sometimes he feels like he has to be sorry and repent for something he couldnt do. We have to remind ourselfs that the strong arent always invincible and that everyone has a fear of something...

Taking about two hours to do and forgetting to eat lunch, I finally completed this week's topic. My vision of night is very surreal and glowing, but still dark. I liked how much contrast the moon and the neon faries gave the drawing. It brought a lot of life in it so it didnt look so dull.

I am so glad that something like this topic came up on Illustration Friday. I love drawing things that are filled with emotion so this was a very enjoyable topic for me.
Angels and wings are always a favorite subject to draw :). No color this week because of Mr. Wertz telling us to keep it black and white..sorry photoshop- only some touch-ups and some added text. But I think I wouldnt like it that much if I had colored it so Im glad I kept it the way it was. Go me!

Floating Fairies

Right when I first saw the word "float" I automatically thought "fairies". I really wanted to capture that "glow" that forms around them and the way they gracefully glide and "float" through the air. I purposely didn't draw her face because I wanted more attention on her wings and her flowing dress.

I thought about this a lot because for me, I have many ways of "escaping"..reading, music, movies, video games...they are all ways I interpreted "escape". So I incorporated many of these ideas in it, and I made the focus on the open window. To me, it meant flying away to someplace where you can get away from the real world.
It has a sense of "Peter Pan" in it- like escaping from the world to Neverland...
